– Braiding without extensions

Water, denman brush, moisturizing conditioner/shampoo, curl product

• This hair is considered high maintenance. Afro kinky curly and kinky curly hair will tangle, as it is tightly coiled

hair. However, tangles should fall out with water and conditioner.

• Treat hair as you would your own hair. Taking great care will extend longevity

• Ideally, install on a u-part OR full wig (this also helps extend longevity)

• Do not use heat. you will loosen the curl or destroy it altogether.

• Do not sleep in wet hair

• Seal wefts with a weft sealant to reduce shedding

• After swimming, clarify hair with clarifying shampoo and condition immediately. Avoid saltwater

Recommended steps – detangle, co-wash (washing hair with only conditioner), define curls with denman brush,

try not to touch curls, air dry.

DETANGLING – Wet hair thoroughly. use your fingers to gently detangle hair while soaking wet.

CO- WASHING – Preferred method of “washing” hair by using moisture rich conditioner. Using a generous amount of conditioner, distribute conditioner through hair in a downward motion using fingers. then using a denman brush, brush conditioner through hair. This will also help to define the curls.

CO- WASHING with SEW IN – Twist or braid hair into 4- 6 braids. This helps to reduce tangling significantly. Use generous moisture rich conditioner and distribute evenly. After co-wash, undo twists or braids and follow remaining instructions.

RINSING – Run water through hair in a downward motion, using your fingers to help the process of removing the conditioner. Curls should be slipping through your fingers. If you still have tangles, repeat the conditioner step in the tangled area.

DEFINING CURLS – Depending on the product, use a good amount of curl definer or lotion and brush through hair with denman brush. When completed, do not disturb curls!

DRYING/PLOPPING – Air dry when possible. If not possible, use a diffuser attachment with a hair dryer on warm.

Too much heat will loosed curls. If hair is on a u-part cap, place wig flat to plop curls, then after 1 hr, hang on mannequin head to dry. If hair is sewn in, pile hair on top of head like a pineapple, wrap in cotton t-shirt and let dry for approx. 90mins.

DAILY CARE – Lightly spritz hair with conditioner/water mix. Detangle with fingers if necessary.

GOING TO BED – Use the pineapple method to secure hair- bend forward, gather hair gently. Secure hair with a scrunchie into a LOOSE ponytail – not too tight or the scrunchie will leave a dent. Do NOT sleep in wet hair. This will cause matting.

Can you straighten your curly hair? Yes. Should you? No. Our curly textures are steam processed curls, they are not naturally curly. If you straighten  the hair, you may loosen the curl pattern and/or lose the curl pattern altogether.

You can dye our curly hair. Some bundles may colour or lift differently that other bundles. Please keep in mind that since the hair was originally Processed textures require extra TLC by way of frequent moisture, deep conditioning and reducing the amount of heat used. The less chemicals used increases the longevity of your extensions.

A good rule to follow when it comes to caring for your Nubian Kinky straight hair, the less you wet/wash them the better! Now we’re not saying not to wash your kinky straight hair, ideally cut back on hairspray and other hair products to avoid product build up on the extensions to avoid less washes. All hair extensions are essentially ‘dead’ hair, meaning, because they are not being provided nourishment as if it were growing out of your scalp.

So this means it is up to you to provide the protection and nourishment to your extensions so they are long lastingly beautiful!

• Ideally, install on a u-part or full wig (this also helps extend longevity)

•  If heat is used, (not recommended for frequent use) use a heat protectant

• Seal wefts with weft sealant to reduce shedding

• Do not cut or sew thru wefts

Recommended steps – detangle, co-wash (washing hair with only conditioner) air dry, style to preference.

Minimize the amount of heat used.

DETANGLING – Use fingers to dry detangle thoroughly, then use large tooth comb. Use paddle brush to smooth hair, style as desired.

WASHING – Washing your hair with shampoo frequently will strip the extension of moisture and dry it out faster.

Co-washing is strongly recommended. however, if you feel the need to wash hair due to product buildup with shampoo, please follow these steps: detangle. use a clarifying shampoo throughout hair. ALWAYS wash hair in a downwards motion. rubbing hair together will cause it to tangle. Rinse hair thoroughly.

CONDITIONING – Once hair has been thoroughly rinsed, use a generous amount of moisturizing conditioner. Use wide tooth comb to distribute conditioner. Rinse thoroughly. This method may be used for co-washing. It is also recommended to deep condition hair at every 2-3 weeks

DEEP CONDITIONING – We recommend a deep condition of your hair extensions every 2-3 weeks. Always apply deep conditioner after washing with a clarifying shampoo and rinse with cold water.

STYLING – Use a moisturizing leave-in conditioner and/or a nickel size amount of argan oil on damp hair. Air drying is strongly recommended. If not possible, use a hair dryer on low heat with a heat protectant. Style as desired.

If you feel that the hair is dry, use argan oil. Hair does not like heavy/too much product.

CURLING – Our textures were designed to be worn as you receive them, however, if you would like to curl your hair, the texture holds curls best with a combination of heat and non-heat methods. A combination of flexible rods and curl wand works well. To curl with flexirods wet hair, add argan oil, flexirod to style. To curl with wand, use heat protectant, curl to desired style.

You may blow dry, curl and straighten your extensions, however, please keep in mind that hair extensions do not have a life source aka, a scalp. Just like your own hair, excessive and/or frequent use of heat will dry out and/or damage your hair.

Our processed textures require extra TLC by way of frequent moisture, deep conditioning and reducing the amount of heat used. The less heat used increases the longevity of your extensions.
